Support INN-PAC and Boost Your Business

INN-PAC is the IAHI’s political action committee, which supports both Republican and Democratic members of Congress. For more than 25 years, INN-PAC has provided IHG franchisees a unified voice on Capitol Hill, and has helped elect legislators that support the hospitality industry and our franchise community.

INN-PAC had a significant influence in the 2004 congressional election as more than 95 percent of the candidates we supported were elected. Today, INN-PAC continues to work with IHG and its lobbyists, Jefferson Government Relations, to further our system’s interests and gain bipartisan support for issues that have a considerable impact on our business.

Each year INN-PAC uses contributions from the IHG franchise community to back various candidates who support our industry. INN-PAC is able to get in front of key legislators to tell our story and voice our opinions so that key decision makers on Capitol Hill make intelligent and well-informed choices. The IAHI has created many relationships using this process. With these established relationships and new ones created each year, INN-PAC continues to have a positive impact in our nation’s capital.

Key issues we’re communicating to our legislators this year include:

• Homeland security initiatives – from biometric passports to the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative – which affect travelers’ ability to easily and efficiently travel to and from the U.S. and neighboring countries
• The need for sensible reform of our nation’s immigration laws, so that our hotels are able to hire legal guest workers to staff all necessary positions
• Pending legislative efforts to increase access to and affordability of health insurance for franchisees and employees
• Current efforts to repeal the estate tax, which can negatively impact franchisees’ ability to transfer assets without significant penalties

INN-PAC promotes the interests of IHG franchisees and the tourism industry by assisting candidates who understand how legislation affects our ability to successfully operate hotels. INN-PAC also enables our entire franchise community to speak as one for much greater impact on Capitol Hill.
