Building Better Leaders

When was the last time you took stock of your skills as a leader? Do you know your strengths and development areas? What would your employees, peers or your manager say are your key leadership strengths and opportunities for development? Members that use the IAHI 360° Leadership Survey get the answers to all these questions and have a tool to use in their business to create meaningful development plans for themselves and leadership team.

A customized Leadership Survey has been created specifically for the IAHI to use in the annual Leadership Institute and as a tool for its participants. Development of this tool was completed as a collaborative effort with Lockwood Leadership International -- recognized as a premier provider of leadership assessment instruments.

The IAHI 360° Leadership Survey is a multi-rater feedback instrument, is simple to use, and all data is collected via the internet – thus, eliminating the need for paper and pencil administration and ensures confidentiality and accuracy.

It canvases leaders’ direct reports, peers, partners and managers to gather feedback on six key dimensions of leadership:

  • Ability to effectively TAKE ACTION
  • Role as a leader to BUILD TEAMS
  • Skills to effectively COMMUNICATE
  • Ability to effectively COACH AND DEVELOP OTHERS
  • Ability to ADAPT TO OTHERS
  • Leadership and KNOWLEDGE OF THE INDUSTRY

These dimensions of leadership were chosen as the key skills and traits that your employees expect of leaders in the hotel industry and getting feedback is consistently listed as one of the most beneficial components of the Leadership Institute.

The IAHI wants to make its members better franchisees. To do that, we have made the same tool used in the Leadership Institute available anytime to members and their organization.
